BIOSaG 2026

Quito (Ecuador)
23 - 25 September 2026

The International Congress of Biomedicine and Global Health (BIOSaG 2026) is organized by the Center for Research on Health in Latin America (CISeAL) of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE) and is supported by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) through the Pew Charitable Trusts. The event will take place from September 23 to 25 at the PUCE facilities, Quito Campus.

BIOSaG 2026 is conceived as a high-level academic and scientific space aimed at promoting knowledge exchange, strengthening research networks, and fostering scientific collaboration in the fields of biomedicine and global health. The congress seeks to establish itself as a regional platform for interdisciplinary scientific dialogue and the generation of strategic alliances among researchers, academic institutions, and health sector stakeholders.

This initiative arises in response to the challenges Latin America faces regarding scientific integration, international visibility, and the development of research capacities. In this context, BIOSaG 2026 proposes a gathering space that facilitates the exchange of experiences and knowledge among researchers, scientists in training, and institutional representatives from Latin America and other regions of the world. Through this academic dialogue, the congress aims to strengthen regional scientific cooperation and boost the international projection of biomedical research developed in the region.

The congress will adopt a multidisciplinary approach integrating basic biomedical sciences, emerging technologies, and population health perspectives. The scientific agenda will address priority issues for the region and the world, including antimicrobial resistance, infectious and emerging diseases, the impacts of climate change on health, and persistent inequities in access to health services.
