As with other NTDS, access to data on Chagas Disease is a challenge. Data on the global burden of Chagas disease are based on estimates that need to be updated and the complexity of this silent and invisible disease presents additional complications.
This session will present several exciting new data initiatives in Chagas Disease. It will also generate an outline of a common framework for the monitoring and evaluation of progress, in order to promote stronger country programs, greater access to quality healthcare for people affected by Chagas Disease and attainment of the PAHO and WHO targets. The session also aims to begin prioritizing gaps in monitoring and evaluation and to identify next steps.
