Shedding Light on a Global Health Threat: Chagas Disease
Experts on global health will present online the most relevant findings from the RAISE study
World Heart Federation and Novartis hold an online event on November 4 to present the RAISE study. This work compile fresh insights into Chagas’ prevalence, mortality, and economic burden, providing a foundation for informed policies and research.
On “Shedding Light on a Global Health Threat: Chagas Disease”, experts from several institutions will explore the study’s key findings and engage with international partners on shaping the future of Chagas disease prevention and care, including the most effective treatment for Chagas cardiomyopathy.
Chagas disease, a neglected tropical disease affecting an estimated 10 million people worldwide, is no longer confined to rural Latin America. Now we know this neglected tropical disease hits other parts of the world, such as North America and Europe, yet it remains widely underdiagnosed, even as a leading cause of heart failure.
