Evaluación de algoritmos basados en pruebas rápidas para diagnosticar la infección crónica por T. cruzi en países endémicos como alternativa al método de diagnóstico actual (pruebas de laboratorio)
FIND
BRAZIL, BOLIVIA, Y COLOMBIA
CD rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) are available in endemic countries, but their use for screening is limited. Evidence suggests that RDTs could be used to diagnose CD.
RDT-based algorithms could allow implemention of a point-of-care diagnostic test, increasing adoption of a test-and-treat strategy for chronic CD in endemic regions.
We will conduct two consecutive multicenter prospective field studies to evaluate the use of RDT-based algorithms to diagnose chronic CD in endemic countries as an alternative to the current (laboratory-based) diagnostic patterns in Bolivia, Brazil and Colombia.
