Global Vector Control Response (GVCR) 2017-2030

Reducing the burden and threat of vector-borne diseases to achieve the NTD road map targets.

online
5 April 2022

You are invited to a webinar that will discuss the health impact of vector-borne neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) and what actions are being implemented to reduce their burden and threat.
The webinar will be broadcast live on  5 April 2022 from 14:00 – 15:00 CET.
Several of the NTDs currently prioritized by WHO (including Chagas disease, dengue and chikungunya, foodborne trematodiases, human African trypanosomiasis, leishmaniasis, lymphatic filariasis, onchocerciasis, schistosomiasis and trachoma) are vector borne and can be transmitted between or to humans.
Vector control is an essential component of our work, but a cross-disease and multisectoral approach is needed to maximize impact and achieve the targets for both the Global Vector Control Response (GVCR) 2017-2030 and the NTD road map for 2021- 2030.GVCR is a key cross cutting pillar for this roadmap.
During the webinar panelists will discuss progress made so far and the potential benefits of a wider GVCR implementation. They will also share operational experiences in vector surveillance and control as well as highlight the importance of integrated and multisectoral actions through practical examples and facilitated discussion.
The webinar will be in English, with simultaneous interpretation in French and Spanish. Please register at the link below.
