Chagas Cardiomyopathy: Management and Controversies

On April 16, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center is hosting an online symposium tited “Chagas Cardiomyopathy: Management and Controversies”, an interactive half-day symposium featuring cardiologists who are leading experts in the field.

It is estimated that at least 300,000 individuals with Chagas disease are living in the United States. One-third of patients develop severe symptoms, including heart failure, thromboembolic phenomena, and life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias, with sudden cardiac death being common. Chagas cardiomyopathy has higher mobidity and mortality rates compared to cardiomyopathies of other causes.

This symposium will feature speakers sharing their experience on the cardiac manifestations of Chagas disease, including its management, treatment options, and relevance in the U.S. It is a must-attend session for practicing cardiologists and trainees.
