Chagas Cardiomyopathy: new insights into inflammation, damage, and progression
The Tulane University in association with the US Chagas Research Consortium will host the First Annual US Chagas Disease Meeting, under the name “Chagas Cardiomyopathy: new insights into inflammation, damage, and progression“, on March 26-27, 2026, at the School of Medicine in New Orleans (United States).
Chagas Coalition is supporting the Chagas group at Tulane University and will be co-chairing a session on March 27 (3:00–5:00 PM). This session will focus on the steps needed to leverage the current momentum around Chagas in the United States. Participating groups will continue the dialogue, reviewing the process, needs, and next steps for clinical guidelines for Chagas in the U.S.”
Chagas Disease is a major cause of non-ischemic cardiomyopathy, heart transplantation, and cardiac death in the Americas. This meeting aims to bring together a workforce of cardiologists who are trained in screening, treating, and managing chronic Chagas cardiomyopathy in their everyday practice. The attendees will discuss and learn about the most recent research and advances in chronic Chagas cardiomyopathy treatment and care, in order to improve and support patient care and clinical management.
