Miradas sobre el Chagas
On the occasion of World Chagas Disease Day, the Turin-based PINTRE association decided to actively contribute to raising awareness, focusing in particular on Bolivia, one of the countries endemic for the disease. The main initiative, entitled “Miradas sobre el Chagas: Haciendo visible una enfermedad olvidada” (Perspectives on Chagas disease, making a forgotten disease visible), was organized in collaboration with the Domingo Savio Private University and the Sustainable Cities and Towns Foundation, along with other partners.
Among the planned activities is a photography exhibition illustrating the impact of Chagas disease, open to the public and students. The event will also feature talks by national and international experts, with the presence of prominent figures such as Italian physician Dr. Domenico Bertero and Dr. Andrea Angheben, who will receive recognition for his important scientific contribution to Chagas disease and the Bolivian community in Italy. The program also includes recognition of individuals and institutions that have distinguished themselves for their commitment to the fight against the disease. In addition, fellow Italians residing in Bolivia will participate in the event, demonstrating international solidarity in the fight against this little-known but highly impactful disease.
