5th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Ibero-American Initiative “Not a Single Baby With Chagas”
Chagas Coalition participates in the advisory committee of thes initiative
Spain will host the 5th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Ibero-American Initiative “Not a Single Baby With Chagas” disease, which will take place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health, located in the city of Madrid, on October 9 and 10.
The Ibero-American Initiative on Congenital Chagas was created in 2021, to help control of mother-to-child transmission of Chagas disease from a multidimensional approach. It is a collaboration from the ministries of health of Argentina, Brazil, El Salvador, Guatemala, Paraguay, Colombia and Spain; as well as organizations such as the Mundo Sano Foundation, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and ISGlobal. This institutions promote precise actions and also the coordination with other institutions and partners prominent in this matter.
The Global Chagas Coalition will participate in the meeting. All participants will share the experiences and results of the actions carried out during the past year, so the Council can evaluate the progress, identify the achievements and establish new objectives and an agenda to achieve them.
