INTERTRYP (Host-Vector-Parasite-Environment Interactions in the Neglected Tropical Diseases due to Trypanosomatids) Research Unit
INTERTRYP is a research unit of IRD, CIRAD (French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development) and University of Montpellier, France, dedicated to research on and control of Neglected Tropical Diseases caused by Trypanosomatids to improve human and animal health. Its research focuses on the integrated study of Human and Animal African Trypanosomiases, Leishmaniases, and Chagas disease through a One Health/Ecohealth approach, aiming to strengthen efforts towards the control and elimination of these diseases INTERTRYP is a WHO (World Health Organization) Collaborating Centre for research on Human African Trypanosomiasis and WOAH (World Organization for Animal Health) Reference Laboratory for the diagnosis of Animal Trypanosomiasis.
