Laboratory and field evaluation of rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) for Trypanosoma cruzi infection

IRD (French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development)

Mexico

This project aims to evaluate, both in the laboratory and in the field, various rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) for Trypanosoma cruzi infection in populations from Yucatán, Mexico. Commercially available RDTs in Mexico are assessed against conventional serological methods—including in-house ELISAs—first using biobanked, previously characterized serum samples from Yucatecan populations, and subsequently through direct application in field settings.
